Meet the professionals powering intelligent risk management
Ben began his career in healthcare recruitment, where he developed a strong grounding in client relationships, communication, and delivery under pressure. His long standing interest in property led him into a career as a loss assessor, working closely with insurers, brokers, and policyholders on residential claims.
Having managed insurance claims totalling millions of pounds, Ben saw first-hand how frequently losses were declined or limited due to technical issues, poor maintenance, or a lack of documented risk management. This experience shaped his belief that many claims are avoidable when buildings are properly understood and managed.
At BRM Solutions, Ben brings his insurance insight and hands on approach to the development of inspection methodologies and reporting standards. His focus is on identifying the issues that genuinely drive claims and underwriting concern, and helping clients address risk before it becomes a problem.
Lindsey Joseph
CO-FOUNDER
Lindsey has extensive experience in risk mitigation and the insurance sector, having built and grown a successful broking business from the ground up. Through this work, she developed a clear understanding of how underwriting decisions are made and the consequences of poor or inconsistent risk management.
She co-founded BRM Solutions after identifying a gap in the market for proactive, building level risk assessments that genuinely support policyholders, brokers, and insurers. Lindsey recognised that many buildings were becoming harder to insure not because of isolated incidents, but due to a lack of structure, visibility, and preventative action.
At BRM, Lindsey plays a key role in shaping the company’s approach to proactive risk management. She is particularly focused on helping clients avoid issues such as non-compliance, escalating excesses, and buildings being viewed unfavourably at renewal.
Tom Marsden
Director
Tom is a qualified carpenter and joiner with extensive hands-on experience across the construction industry. He has worked on a wide range of projects in the UK, France, and New Zealand, and since returning to the UK in 2010 has led a successful construction company in Manchester as Managing Director.
Tom brings deep technical knowledge and practical insight to BRM Solutions, grounded in years of working directly with buildings rather than purely assessing them on paper. His experience allows him to identify construction and maintenance issues that are often missed during more superficial inspections.
At BRM, Tom plays a key role in overseeing inspection quality and technical standards, ensuring findings are accurate, evidence-led, and reflective of how buildings actually perform over time. His guiding principle is simple: if a building is insured, it should also be properly protected.
Tom’s focus is on ensuring BRM’s services deliver meaningful risk reduction, helping clients safeguard their assets and avoid unexpected insurance issues through thorough, proactive assessment.
